The Vedic meditation technique is so simple it seems unbelievable. In fact, I didn't believe it when I first tried it! Unlike other techniques it requires minimal effort, no forced concentration or postures. Instead it is a gentle easing into a deeply relaxing state.  The technique is non-denominational and can be learned by anyone, of any age, which means there's no excuse not to try it! I should preface this by saying I’m a huge sceptic and really was convinced that either meditation wouldn’t be for me, or that my brain would be too hectic to able to meditate successfully. I became interested in learning about the ‘how’ and ‘why’ behind Vedic meditation from speaking with Emily and knew I would regret not giving it a try. I have one of those minds that finds it impossible to switch off and I’m guilty of being glued to some form of constantly-buzzing technology 24/7. From the very first session with Emily, I felt a sense of surreal calm that I don’t think I’ve felt in years, which only increased with each session. I completed the 4-day course about two weeks ago, and it was a really great experience. Em is a wonderful instructor – I found her way of explaining things to be really clear and most importantly, relevant to day-to-day life. The whole course is grounded in really practical applications and since I’ve started meditating regularly I’ve had better concentration and energy throughout the day.
