Stress may be the new normal, but it doesn’t have to be your normal.
Vedic meditation Melbourne
& Adelaide
Vedic meditation is a simple mental technique for even the busiest minds. Practised for 20 minutes twice a day, there’s no need to concentrate, get rid of thoughts or sit like a pretzel.
Vedic meditation allows the mind and body to naturally settle down inside, creating deep rest so we can let go of stress, tension and fatigue and reconnect with our inner peace, fulfillment, happiness and creativity.
Join Emily to learn Vedic meditation in Melbourne or Adelaide and experience for yourself just how simple meditation can be.
How the Vedic meditation technique works
Vedic meditation involves the gentle internal repetition of a mantra (a short sound) in an easy, effortless manner. With this, we enable the mind to spontaneously settle down into a deep state of rest, gently removing stress, tension and fatigue from the body while re-establishing ourselves in a place of calm wakefulness we call Being.
Rather than trying to control the mind or get rid of thoughts, Vedic meditation offers an effortless approach to calming the mind and relaxing the body, allowing true healing and transformation to take place.
Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is what you are.
– Chinese proverb
The benefits of Vedic meditation
(They’re not all in your head)
If you’re reading this, you probably already know meditation is good for you. Chances are you’ve even tried it before – you’ve downloaded all the apps, visualised yourself as a leaf floating on the breeze and sat in silence trying not to think. If they’re working, keep it up. If they’re not, here are just a few of the benefits our community experiences with consistent daily practice of Vedic meditation.
-
With regular practice, Vedic meditators find themselves less ruffled by everyday stressors and more resilient in the face of life’s inevitable ups and downs. By releasing stress and regulating the nervous system, we become more adaptable and find ourselves feeling less anxious and overwhelmed.
-
Vedic meditation helps us create space in the mind so we can respond to life, rather than react. When we’re not longer stressed to the eyeballs, there’s room to breathe, weigh our options and choose our next thought, speech or action rather than default to our old habits of reactivity.
-
A stressed nervous system is a tired nervous system. A twice-daily Vedic meditation practice offers two periods of deep rest and rejuvenation for the mind and body. Think of it like a daily retreat from life, a chance to emerge feeling brighter, clearer and more energised.
-
Vedic meditation helps you become the person your dog thinks you are. When we feel calm, grounded and connected to ourselves, we’re better able to show up from a place of presence and fulfillment and bring our best selves to our relationships.
-
When we turn the volume down on stress and anxiety, we get the chance to listen to our heart. This means a direct line to your intuition and greater capacity to make choices that bring you greater fulfillment. Don’t be surprised if you learn to meditate and quit your job to follow your dreams – this happens to many of our students, and always with the best outcomes.
-
With regular meditation, we start to see that the happiness we’re searching for is already right there within us. When we tap into that, we experience a baseline level of unwavering contentment and inner fulfillment no matter what might be happening in our lives. Even when shit hits the fan, we can still smile and enjoy the ride.
-
Frequent stress and anxiety wreaks havoc on every system within the body, from immunity to digestion and reproduction. Many of the most common conditions people are faced with these days (hello, digestive problems and fertility issues) are rooted in or greatly exacerbated by stress. When there’s less stress in the system, the body can heal, return to equilibrium, function optimally and resist the impact of busy modern living.
